The Organic Esthetician Blog

The Answer To The Question You Ask Most Often

Hi Guys,

I guess I took a little break there.

I’ve gone back and forth trying to decide how personal I’m going to be on the Blog. I don’t want to detract from our usual programming. We’ll still be talking about all things anti-aging and organic skincare, as you’ll see lower in this post. But I want to also be honest about what’s been going on in my life. A lot has been going on.

Let me just preface this by saying that I’m writing this poolside from the rooftop of the W Hotel Hollywood, so life isn’t so bad.

My longtime boyfriend and I separated about a month ago.  It was the right thing to do, for both of us.  It was a longtime coming.  But navigating the myriad of emotions that comes with such a life changing event has been hard and my focus has been... less than laser.  I’m living alone for the first time in nearly a decade and that’s both exciting and terrifying, but mostly it’s just lonely.

At the exact same moment as all of this was taking place, I started my new job.  I am Luzern Labs newest brand ambassador and educator.  This is literally my dream job.  You want to pay me to talk about skincare all day? Um, yes please!  It’s been so fun meeting and working with our spa partners.  But there’s a lot of travel.  Which I’m actually really looking forward to, it makes the time spent at home easier.  And relieves some of the stress of taking on my lease on my own (LA is not cheap).  My answer right now to any and everything is YES.  I think I’ll be in three different states plus Canada, all in September.

However, it does make weekly posts a little more challenging.  So I hope you guys understand and can be patient with me.  I’m trying.  I’m planning on still doing weekly posts.  As you know, I find weekly videos a bit harder to manage but I’ll see what I can do.  If all I had to do was film we’d be good but editing is not my forte and ends up being a fairly slow process for me. Hence the lapse in YouTube posts.

Anyway, the W Hotel is not my normal working venue but upon returning home from my last work trip, my apartment flooded.  Water came up the Kitchen sink drain and, despite having shut the water off, this water flooded my apartment (kitchen and living room). I completely lost it! But as with all the negative experiences I’m having lately, it’s immediately followed by something really amazing. Thank you renters insurance! They put me up at a hotel and definitely made these last few days less awful.

If anyone is looking for great renters insurance, I highly recommend E Renter. #notsponsored

If you don’t have it, get it! They hooked it up!  Such a great ending to the worst couple of days.
